    Great family trip

We rented both sides of the duplex to bring our two families together for a couple days. We played games, hiked around the lake and went up to do some sledding near hoodoo. The sun was shining and we couldn’t have asked for better weather. The rooms had been updated since the last time we were there and the kids loved the bunk beds.

YURT: clean, cozy and warm but no lights/ no power

Glamping at its finest! This small yurt is new, warm and super clean/no trace of mold. It is tucked at the end of the string of cabins so it feels VERY private. Know what to expect and you will love staying here. There is no power, no horizontal surfaces for prepping, eating, playing games. As of Jan 18,2021, there is a propane stove, a couch and a big bed (with twin upper bunk. The solar panels didn't provide any power (and I doubt that much sun gets through the tree coverage even in summer.) Bring a lantern and headlamps. Bring all bedding, of course. Bring a camp stove for cooking outside. Optional: Bring a camp table and a couple camp chairs. The fireplace heats up quickly and stays comfortable. We had no idea it had frozen outside during the night. From the previous review, we knew what to expect. We had beautiful days to spend the entire days outside at picnic tables and nearby snow parks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful place and a great "base camp" for exploring

The cabin we rented at Clear Lake was a perfect little get-away. The cabin was clean and very cozy, not to mention super affordable. It's close to several sno-parks, Hoodoo ski area, the McKenzie River Trial, Belknap Hot Springs, and about 40 min from Sisters. While it was raining our entire stay at Clear Lake, the proximity to other great places allowed us to get a huge diversity of outdoor time while having a cozy place to return to. The trail around the lake is a ton of fun to hike or run. While we enjoyed our winter stay, I'd recommend visiting in the summer when the sunshine makes the lake super blue, and you can rent boats (we didn't because of the freezing rain). Note: make sure you bring a way to make coffee if you are a coffee drinker staying in the cabins!
